That’s a Rip

Our bed sheets are amazing and we’ve had them for about 2 years. We also have dogs and they love to jump on our bed and scratch at the sheets and spin in circles until it feels just right. I think the scratching weakened the sheets somewhat because we recently noticed a small tear in the fitted sheet. Well, sheets are expensive, good sheets at least, and I feel like you have to buy good sheets so they’re super comfortable. I mean you sleep on them every night and a good nights rest is a big deal, right? So last night when I moved my leg and my toe got stuck in the rip and really ripped the sheets further I decided it was time to step up and buy new sheets.

Nice, right?

Today, Lo and I had a lunch and shopping date so I picked out some new sheets and I’m really excited to try them. They’re currently being washed but I hope they’re as soft and comfortable as the old sheets were. Here’s hoping!

Happy Friday!

Broken Bed

This is our bed. Do you see anything wrong with it because I do… it has a tumor.

This is David’s side of the bed by the way so this is obviously all his fault ;). The funny thing is that he didn’t even notice it until I pointed it out when I was changing the sheets. So now we are are thinking about switching the guest mattress (sorry mom and dad) with ours and getting a memory foam mattress topper. My sister just got one and it’s amazing! We’ve always wanted the tempurpedic mattress, but didn’t want to fork over the dollars so this will hopefully be a happy medium 🙂

It’s supposed to be 113 today so I’ll be inside, like the weatherman recommended, for fear of melting 🙂

Happy Wednesday!

I had to document.

Sometime in the middle of the night last night this happened.

David: (laughing) “Wow, it’s dark in here.”

Me: “What?”

David: (holding his hand in the air trying to see it) “It’s really dark in here.”

Me: “Yeah, it’s the middle of the night.”

David: “Well, I should probably go lock all the people up then.”

Me: (laughing at this point) “What are you saying??”

David: silence – he fell back asleep

He doesn’t remember this or what he wad dreaming about at all.

Lights out!

I call David my camp counselor.  He earned this title because of his night-time routine.  See, David and I agree on most everything, everything except our night-time routines that is.  I prefer to get ready for bed and then read or watch TV until my eyes are heavy.  At that point, I’m ready to turn off the lights and go to sleep.  David, on the other hand, gets ready for bed and literally calls out to me, “lights out” just like a camp counselor.  He wants to turn the lights off and go to sleep right away.  Obviously, this required some compromising for the sake of our marriage and his need to get 8 hours of sleep each night.  Luckily, neither of us is so stubborn that this turned into an issue.   At some point he bought me a personal reading light so I could read after “lights out” and last Valentine’s Day one of David’s presents was…

A sleep mask!  Very thoughtful right? David is able to wear his sleep mask and get his beauty rest and I can watch TV after “lights out” with the volume turned WAY down and all is right with the world. I have to admit I did at one point have the perfect blackmail picture of him wearing this when he was asleep one night but I had to delete it off my phone (because it wasn’t random person looking at my pictures appropriate). I also have to say he has actually gotten much better about “lights out” than he was 2 and half years ago when we first got married.  I love my camp counselor.
