In my family, it is a big deal to be surprised when you’re given a gift. It drives us crazy if someone knows what they’re getting. I think it ruins the fun of picking out a gift, wrapping it, and giving it to someone and it ruins the excitement for the person getting the gift. Anyways, one year my brother and sister found one of our Christmas presents and told me about it. Now we all knew we were getting Pillow Buddies (remember those?!) and somehow my parents figured out that we knew. My mom was so upset that the surprise was ruined that she told us she was going to give those presents away. She did it in an attempt to re-surprise us when Christmas rolled around, and it worked, because when we opened our Pillow Buddies on Christmas morning we were so excited! So when my sister and I had this conversation the other day I laughed and it makes me laugh everytime I read it.

Like I said, surprises are a big deal 🙂

Happy Thursday!
