She’s A Maniac, Maniac…

This kid. She’s gone off the deep end. Apparently it is now the END. OF. THE. WORLD. for her to lay still for even 10 seconds on her changing table.

She refuses to lay on her back for a diaper change or to change clothes and she immediately starts flipping herself to her belly.

When we change her diaper she locks her legs… so when I pick up her legs to wipe her and put the new diaper on… she does a handstand… not kidding. This is SO. MUCH. FUN. when she has a dirty diaper and you’re not only trying to clean her off, but avoid getting poop all over yourself.

She’s not even upset… She just doesn’t want to be wasting her time with such trivial matters {like getting poop off her butt} when there is crawling to be done, things to be eaten off the floor, and dogs to terrorize.

No amount of singing or toys will amuse her long enough.

So… We’re getting pretty, darn good at putting diapers on from the back, clothes while she’s standing, and socks while she’s trying to crawl off the changing pad.

  1. HAHA, I love these pictures, her face says it all !! I just love it when they all the sudden realize they are in control and it is time when Mommy and Daddy have to become a whole lot quicker and much more talented when it comes to changing them. If they were not so darn cute it may not be so much fun trying to do this and take a picture at the same time. Thanks for sharing Melissa.

  2. This is cracking me up because we are going through this exact same thing right now. Hayden HATES laying on his back for changes. I’ve tried distracting him with toys and such but nothing works, he just wants to flip over! It’s definitely a workout for mama πŸ™‚

  3. I saw this on Hellocotton and I had to click over and see what this little cutie was flippin’ over. We don’t have any babies yet, but this definitely made me laugh! Oh, the joys of motherhood I have to look forward to, right? πŸ˜‰ Glad to have found your blog!

  4. She’s so cute! I have the same kind at home. Now 15 months and still she has no time to waste there!! I didn’t know we could try so many things to keep them still for a second ! Enjoy the time with your gorgeous baby. Cheers from France
