Come On Ride The Train

Guys, I’m so behind on blogging… this happened a while ago.  Probably a month ago.  And yeah, I’ve used my daughter’s obsession with trains to throwback to 4th grade with the title of this post.

Anyways,  we took Kennedy on her first train ride at this place about 45 minutes from Tallahassee called the Veteran’s Memorial Railroad.  We got there and missed the first train. It’s completely run by volunteers and they don’t get off the train schedule by a minute.  So we went over to see the old train they had there and play on the playground while we waited for the train to come back around.

We were a little worried she’d be scared, but she was so excited.

The actual ride was about 20 minutes and the train maxed out at about 5 mph so it was perfect for her.

There was a tunnel lit up with Christmas lights that she loved and she saw a “diesel” at the end of the tunnel so that may have been the highlight of the trip.

Reese just wanted my sunglasses the whole time.

After the ride, we went in the “train station” and David insisted on buying her a train conductor hat. However long it took to take this picture is how long she wore it.

It was insanely hot, and the train was so slow we could have walked faster, but she loved it and she’s still talking about it to this day so it was perfect.

I’m a twenty-something wannabe city girl living in Tallahassee, FL with my husband and high school sweetheart, David, and our girls, Kennedy and Reese. I'm a financial analyst, much better with numbers than words, but this is my attempt at recording this wonderful, crazy life of ours.
