Just So You Know

– I JUST realized that my comment replies ARE NOT email notifying the commenter. So basically, I reply to everyone’s comments and no one knows it unless they check this tiny box that tells wordpress to notify them. AWESOME. I’ll be replying by email from now on. Sorry!

– So far, I have brought some kind of weird bug and a bright green lizard into the house when I bring the diapers in from drying outside. The drying rack is now in the garage.

– Last night, while making dinner, Kennedy NEEDED a diaper change (you get what I’m saying here right… it sounded like a machine gun in my kitchen), but I had just put green peppers and zucchini in the pan and David wasn’t home. So, I stirred the pan, grabbed her, and went to change her diaper. It was not going to be a quick, clean-up so… I did what totally normal people do… took off her diaper, cleaned her up, and brought her NAKED BUTT to the kitchen to check on the veggies. In the process I ended up looking like this…

I guess I missed a spot… but really, why didn’t I just take the veggies off the heat??? Hindsight.

Kennedy sleeps on her side now and it’s the cutest. thing. ever. We went for a walk the other day and she ended up like this…

– I recently found out about Rockabye Baby and we’re kind of obsessed. It takes songs from everyone (beatles, pink floyd, metallica, journey, queen….) and turns the songs into instrumental, lullaby sounding, music. David and I like to listen to it even without Kennedy… it’s just that cool. AND it makes a fun game trying to guess the song. Aliya I love you for posting about this!

My office is basically all windows.

Not the best situation as far as pumping goes. So where do I find myself around 9:30 and 2:30 every day? In the bathroom… sitting on the floor. Oh, can I also add that the stalls are actual rooms with real doors so the motion sensor CAN’T. TELL. I’M. IN. THERE… so the lights get turned off on me. I’ll be needing some roll down shades… or that alone might make me quit.

Bamboo. Oh, Bamboo. I bought him in 2005 for my townhouse and he’s followed me everywhere ever since. After we moved into our house I didn’t really have a place for him so he came to work with me. I’m strangely attached to him and apparently he REALLY missed me, because even though I watered him when I stopped in the office, I came back and he looked like this….

So I gave him a “hair cut” and I’m hoping he’ll pull through. Live, Bamboo, Live!

and that about sums it up…

  1. OMG Melissa, I would have had a heart attack if that lizard was in my house. I guess if I lived where you are maybe it is a common occurence but yikes!!! I have to admit I did get a chuckle of the picture of Kennedy’s accident,HA isn’t that always they way when you have more than one thing going on something like that happens? I remember before having children if I had heard or seen something like that it would have grossed me out, but after having a baby these issues somehow become something to smile/laugh about. I also think it was cute that you thought to take a picture of it. Ha. Congratulations also on making it through your first week back to work and to little Kennedy for her BIG first week away from her Mamma. Have a nice weekend.

    1. I figure if no one is hurt I’m documenting 🙂 even if it is me full of baby poop! I’m so glad the week is OVER and I get 2 full days with my baby girl!
